4. |
HF broadband transmit aerial [Bi-conical]
Tiger and Blake - 640 CAW
Usually 8-24 MHz
1000 Watts |
| AHR |
1. 2.
3.
4.
|
A main wire aerial rigged between the mainmast and
foremast. Forward part of wire is part of the broadband folded
monopole HF aerial. The after part of wire is the MF transmit
aerial fed from the ETB
Frigates and DLG's
When fitted MIXED FIT the whole aerial is connected to the ETB and
covers the frequency range of 240 kHz to 2.9999MHz. When fitted
ICS the forward part covers the frequency range of the broadband aerial
and the after part is connected to the ETB which covers 240 kHz to 3MHz.
Mixed Fit with ETB - 500 Watts. With ICS [i] ETB 500 Watts [ii]
Broadband carries anything up to 4000 Watts depending on number and
configuration of HF transmitters fitted |

FM hand portable operating in the IMM band. The
001 is operated by speaking/listening direct into the MIC/Loudspeaker.
The 002 is identical but is operated from extended
microphone/Loudspeaker facility. The standard short range portable
[SSRP] of the Fleet
Virtually all ships and craft
Channel 1: IMM Channel 8 [156.4MHz] in all cases. Channel 2: IMM Channel
13 [156.65MHz] in all cases except that in sets supplied to Minehunters/Minesweepers
and MCM Support Vessels this channel will be crystallised for operating
on 156.525MHz [IMM Channel 70]. This frequency is intended as a
separate common channel for 'sweeping' ops. Channel 3: IMM Channel
16 [156.8MHz] on Submarines, Minehunters, Minesweepers, MCM Support
Vessels. Frigates and above have channel 3 as a private channel of their
own. It is import to understand that many ships share their private
channel with other ships and therefore must use callsigns when in
company with one another. Also that half the Navy share this
channel with commercial users [1 to 28 series]. The other half
share channel three with commercial users of IMM Channels 60 to 88.
Golden rule: consult ALRS VOL 6 and STORNO DCI before using
channel 3. |

The Army denote their equipments by
using 3 letters and 2 figures, viz, SR A13. The 'SR' in all cases
means STATION RADIO. The next letter A-E represents the power output,
where A=0 to 10 watts; B=10 to 100 watts; C= 100 watts to 1kW; D= 1 to
10kW and E= In excess of 10kW. Finally, the figures represent a
frequency range, where 10-39= 300kHz to 30MHz; 40-69= 30MHz to 3GHz and
70-99= Above 3 GHz. |
