The B29 was for many years, throughout WW2 and afterwards, the main Fleet LF/MF Receiver. Outwardly, it was much more complicated to look at than was the B28, and it was a 'straight' receiver, a TRF [Tuned Radio Frequency] set, unlike the B28 which was a superhet. In most cases, a ship would have several B28's fitted to just the odd B29. Fitted widely throughout the Fleet. Click here B29.pdf for a description, and here B29 Picture.pdf for a picture.
